Winnie Ssanyu Sseruma

I currently work as an International Development consultant based in London, UK. My consultancy work includes facilitating health trainings, community research, programme evaluations and technical assistance, largely supporting community based organizations responding to issues of social justice, women leadership and HIV & AIDS.

The current focus of my work is monitoring & assessing community health & social enterprise initiatives in 20 countries across Africa, for the Stephen Lewis Foundation in Toronto, Canada.

In the UK, I have worked for various organisations including HIV I-Base, Partners in Evaluation and Christian Aid, UK.

In Uganda, my ancestral home, I co-founded Bridging A Gap Initiative (BAGCI), which provides breakfast to almost 200 vulnerable children each morning during the school term. The organisation has been going for 17 years. In 2022, I co-founded, Mentoring Omwana (Child) Project, which supports young people to access opportunities, develop their skills, especially computer skills and to find hope in full-filing lives beyond formal education.

I have a BA in Sociology from Saint Mary University, in Leavenworth, Kansas, USA.
